The DMP brand was founded by brothers Alexander van der Post & Leon van der Post on a plane ride back from their current supplier. Their vision was to create affordable, high quality products for scooters/mopeds in Europe, and that is exactly what they have achieved since 1997.

The Power1 brand was founded by Creco B.V., which developed the products and introduced them to the European market. In 2021, Creco B.V. merged with Pe-Pe Parts B.V.
